It was the morning of 26th June 1975 when the people of Azad Hindustan got the biggest shock of their lives. Their voice was gone, and their rights were wrenched. Like every morning, it was not the voice of the news anchor on the radio but of Indira Gandhi (then Prime Minister of India)
"Brothers, sisters, The President has declared a state of emergency. But common people need not be afraid of this".
This news had left the whole nation in turmoil; for the first time in the nation's history editorial page of the newspapers was black.
What were the reasons for the Emergency?
Numerous grounds led to the state of Emergency, whether Political, Judicial, or fake promises by the government. But, we'll focus on how youth’s involvement significantly influenced the country's decision to declare a state of Emergency.
On 20th November 1973, the students of Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering, Gujrat, started protesting against the government due to the increasing food prices. On the other side of the coin, on 18th March 1974, students in Bihar encircled the Vidhan Sabha. They started protesting against the government with the slogan.
"Gujarat victory is ours; now it's Bihar's turn"/"Gujarat ki jeet humari hai ab Bihar ki bari hai."
Correspondingly, the police intervened, resulting in the death of the 3 students. When this news reached the masses, they heavily protested against the Indira government, and this tussle resulted in the 'Bihar Band' proclamation on 23rd March 1974. The police also arrested many students after this student union came into action and invited freedom fighter Jai Prakash Narayan to support the movement. Without a shadow of a doubt, he accepted their invitation and declared the nationwide Andolan. On 25th June, the campaign took a sharp turn when JP Narayan stated that if Indira Gandhi did not step down from her position, he would call for a movement. This statement hitted Indira as a bolt from the blue, and finally, on 25th June 1975, and the President imposed the Emergency.
From this incident, we can easily infer the power of Youth. This is an unequivocal statement that our Youth is the future of our country. But these days, the Youth is moving away from politics, and it is not wrong to coin the term 'dirty politics for today's politics. But “One cannot change the system without being a part of the system." If the Youth pay more attention to the working of the government, try to involve in the schemes and policies, and raise their voice against injustice, we can count towards a better nation by praising politics.
That's it for today. Do mention your views in the comment section.

Cheers!!
That emergency bought some positive changes in our constitution which is a good thing.
And yes, there is a requirement for youth in politics, moreover, basic educational eligibility should be there for the post of MLAs and MPs.
